Small Zen Patio Ideas – How To?

Posted on October 17, 2021

When you think about a small zen patio, usually you mean that you are thinking of putting one somewhere in someone’s apartment. This isn’t always the case though but with a small patio, it can really be effective for apartment gardening ideas. You could set it up on either the side or back of your apartment, making it more convenient for use during the daytime. Here are some small Zen patio ideas that you might want to try:

Small zen patio ideas can really work in your favor when it comes to apartment gardening. You can get a small container or pot that will hold a few plants all placed in one, easy to clean container. All you need is about three feet of walkway, a small bench, and stakes to place at intervals around the area you want to plant.

The first small zen patio idea you might want to try is called apartment gardening. You might want to do this if you don’t have enough space for a traditional patio. If you are lucky enough to have a large apartment, or a balcony, apartment gardening can be a great idea. Just remember that a balcony is quite tall, and you will need a much wider walkway. However, if you don’t have a deck or walkway, you can still enjoy apartment gardening. All you have to do is plan out an area where you can plant as many of the flowers and vegetables that you want.

It doesn’t matter what kind of container you decide to use, as long as it is made from something sturdy. A planter box or small pots work well, but large and airy containers like the ones on your counter top work better. Just make sure that your plants are not exposed to too much wind, as this can cause them to rot. You should also make sure that you are placing your small pots on a level surface, so that the soil won’t drain too fast.

Another idea for small pots is using small clay or rock garden pots. These kinds of pots are not only beautiful, but they can also help retain moisture, which can be important during summer months when you might find your plants needing a drink. Small pots also take up less space than larger ones. And since they are quite inexpensive, you can get more than one if you plan to plant some trees or bushes in your space.

When choosing small containers for your garden, don’t forget to get some good drainage material as well. You want to keep your plants from getting stressed, and from succumbing to disease. So water deeply, and pay special attention to drainage holes, because plants can easily drown in shallow water. Consider using screen-type garden netting, with slits for draining. Or you could use garden colemas, which are like smaller, tightly-sealed domes. There are many types of columns available, so be sure to shop around and read some reviews before you buy one.

For your planter boxes, you can use screen-type pieces, or you could use rocks. Rocks, as well as small pots and containers, look great grouped together, and it is a nice touch to arrange your plants on a geometric pattern, or as if they had a design theme. Whatever you choose, don’t overdo it with plant designs, as this might distract from the overall atmosphere you are trying to portray. Your Zen garden should be peaceful and tranquil, not cluttered with a lot of different plant varieties.

When you have your small patio landscaping in place, you need to think about how much light you will get. This will affect how many plants you can have, and whether or not you will be able to grow herbs or even grow food in your small pots. If you have too many plants close together, it can be hard for them to get enough sunlight. So, think about how much light you will be getting in your area and then plan out your plants accordingly.
