How Big of a Terarium For Bearded Dragon Should You Get?

Posted on August 23, 2021

One question that I’m often asked is how big of a terrarium for bearded dragons should be? For my beard, I would say anywhere from eight to ten gallons. That may not sound like much, but with the size of these pets, you want to give them as big of a space to live as possible. I wouldn’t go any larger than eight to ten gallons, because with the right terrarium design, that space can be covered and still provide enough room for your bearded dragon to run around in.

When thinking about how big of a terrarium for bearded dragon should be, you also need to think about the number of terrarium plants that will fit into the space available. Some bearded dragons prefer plant life over other types of plant life. If your beard isn’t too picky, you should have no problem filling the space with basic plants and a few decorative plants. If you have more space available, you may want to consider using silk or fake plants, which can provide a bit more interest to your terrarium.

The next thing that you need to consider is how much money you are willing to spend on your terrarium. If you’re looking at making your own terrarium, you will need to purchase your terrariums. You can make your own terrarium out of terra-cotta clay, using holes that have been cut into the clay. These holes will have air chambers built in them, to provide the environment for your bearded dragon. With terra-cotta clay, you can also use different kinds of paint and different colors. The possibilities really are endless.

There are also kits available for sale, if you’re just looking to get one terrarium and put it together. These kits usually include the terrarium itself, the air pump, the light and water mixture, food and substrate, and whatever special materials that you might want. They’re pretty easy to put together, but you do have to make sure that you follow the directions carefully. You can avoid unnecessary mistakes if you know what you’re doing when you’re buying terrariums, especially since most of them include the material you need right out of the box.

Another thing to consider is how large of a terrarium you need to buy, since this will determine how big of a terrarium you can make. Many terrariums can hold up to 20 gallons of water, so you will want to decide how much water your terrarium holds before you start shopping around. If you don’t have any idea of how big of a terrarium you’re looking for, there are plenty of images to help you along the way.

If you’re looking for a terrarium specifically for a bearded dragon, then you’ll have to make sure that it’s large enough for your lizard to swim around in. Bearded dragons tend to be very active, and they tend to get really messy when they’re playing. If your terrarium doesn’t have the space for your bearded dragon to run around in, it will make it very difficult for your dragon to live a healthy life. Make sure that you’re choosing a terrarium that’s big enough for your bearded dragon, because these guys will grow very large in no time.

Other things that you need to keep in mind when you’re shopping for terrariums is size and shape. Terrain plays a huge role in how big of a terrarium you can build. If you’re not planning on putting your terrarium in the ground, then you’ll need to decide how it will be shaped. Many terrariums can be made into different shapes, but there are also many designs that are strictly bi-fold. The type of terrarium that you choose should be based off of how you plan to use it. If you’re simply looking at growing a few terrariums for your friends and family to enjoy, then you don’t need to make yours very elaborate.

Another thing that you will want to take into consideration when you’re thinking about how big of a terrarium for bearded dragon is lighting. Most people who purchase terrariums for bearded dragons will purchase one with the proper light intensity needed for their dragon to thrive. The best way to determine how much light your terrarium for bearded dragon will need is to buy a UV filter, and to put it on the terrarium during the warmer times of the year. This will give your bearded dragon plenty of sunlight needed to survive. If you have one of the more expensive terrariums for your bearded dragon, then you may want to consult an expert before you purchase it to ensure that you have all of the proper terrarium requirements in place.
