A Small Garden Outside Your House – How To Connect Two Properties With The Help Of An Outdoor Garden Staircase

Posted on June 7, 2021

When planning to have an apartment garden outside the house, you must first choose a suitable place to place it. One thing that is essential is that the spot should receive a lot of sunlight and also, have at least four feet of clear space around it. A garden staircase may be great as a backdrop, or you can add stone steps and/or planters. Another option is to place the garden right next to your patio door. If you have a screened Lanai or balcony, then you can grow your herbs right on the balcony.

Most people who choose to have their own apartment garden outside the house usually build a small patio stairway in the back. If you want, you can place a tiny pergola on the balustrade of your stairs and plant potted plants on the balustrade as well. Potted herbs do not require much maintenance and can survive minor pests, such as sparrows, and other small creatures that may visit your outdoor garden staircase. Since most staircases in apartments are already narrow, you can just use a string of colorful potted plants along the string, hanging them like strings of pearls, or a small bridge of flowers, all hanging vertically from the balustrade.

A small outdoor garden staircase made of stone is also a great addition to any little urban space. You can make this outdoor space stylish by placing a pot or two on it, or by choosing one that complements your existing urban landscaping design. Stone outdoor garden stairs look nice even without lights, as they are able to blend with the stone and brick of your building.

If your building has few windows and glass areas, then you can always put up small screens or Roman blinds around the glass areas. This way, you can ensure the privacy that you desire, especially if you live alone. When it comes to outdoor living, a good choice of home security is a good investment for everyone. The great thing about installing a small outdoor garden staircase is that it does not take up a lot of space, thus enabling you to place it almost anywhere in your backyard.

Small outdoor garden staircases can also be used to connect two different terraces. For example, if you have a terrace that connects to your main house, you can make your staircase attractive and visually connected by putting up a small screen or blind. These kinds of accessories will ensure that outsiders do not have access to the actual house. They are very useful especially during parties where your guests may want to get in touch with you, or if you want to show off your chandelier or a beautiful specimen tree you had planted some time ago. Your guests would surely appreciate having the option to check out your garden from inside.

A small garden staircase that connects two terraces, for example, is also a good choice when you have a smaller garden and you would like to create a connection between the two properties. If you have a small patio, an outdoor garden staircase connecting two adjoining terraces can be used to provide a connection between the two properties. This is possible because most garden staircases made of wood are usually equipped with balusters. You just need to choose the right kind of baluster.

Some homeowners are now trying to use smaller outdoor garden staircases to connect two patios. Since they are located outside the house, they do not present any visual obstructions. They are therefore perfect for small spaces like driveways. And since they are available in different designs and colors, you can choose the one that best fits the exterior of your house.

If you want your garden to look bigger, you should probably use larger wooden outdoor garden staircases. It is also a good idea to build a frame for your stairs. This will prevent the wood from breaking because of strong winds. However, make sure that the framework does not block the drainage well so that your newly added outdoor garden staircase will be functional and durable.
