How To Find The Best Money Plant Balcony To Add Value To Your Garden

Posted on September 27, 2021

So you’re considering a money plant balcony. You love the idea of being outside all of the time, even if you have to climb up a few stairs. But your apartment building makes it really hard to get out to your balcony, or to plant in your apartment garden. It would be nice if there was a way to do both on one level. This article discusses how money plants can solve your problems.

In urban areas, it is often impossible to plant in a backyard. The apartment building’s front yard is often already cluttered with street furniture and other human waste. It would make sense then, that you should not plant anything directly in front of your apartment. But if you place a money plant at your apartment building’s balcony, it will attract nature right away and help curb the growth of unwanted apartment building waste.

Money plants are easy to take care of. Most are attracted to shade and can be planted almost anywhere. If you have a spot that gets four to six hours of sunlight every single day, then your apartment garden will thrive. If you only get one or two hours of sun per day, your plants will suffer if you do not provide adequate lighting for them. Some plants such as marigolds, basil and aloes require little or no sunlight at all.

Most money plants come with attractive pots. There are several designs available, so you can match your apartment decor. Some are designed to go on the balcony rail while others have detachable pots which can be hung on the wall or left on the table. A popular pot made of woven acrylic is available at most gardening stores. Many of these pots look like mini tables and because they are so lightweight, they take up very little space.

Unlike many exotic flowers that cannot survive cold temperatures outside, most money plants do very well in low light conditions. They do not like indirect sunlight because it reduces their energy. However, you can purchase specially made, high quality lights to put near your plants so they do not have to suffer from the weather. The lights should be bought for their recommended height to ensure that your money plants get proper light for growth. You may also want to consider buying an inexpensive artificial source of light.

It is important to make sure that your plants are protected from wind. This is especially important in an apartment balcony because of the drafts in the building. You can buy small curtains or other covers to attach to the balcony railing. Another option is to buy a screen door to separate the plants from the apartment room. Make sure that any plants you buy are not poisonous or polluting.

Your plants will not thrive unless you provide them with the proper amount of water. You can buy inexpensive water sprinklers or install a simple tap. You also may choose to use a garden hose. Just remember that too much water can drown your plants. Try to water your plants thoroughly during the morning and early afternoon hours.

Finally, you need to consider the location of your money plant balcony carefully. If your plants get too close to one another, it is likely that they will not grow as well. It is also important that the plants are not placed so that there are hard edges on the balcony railing. You should be able to find a spot that allows the sun to flood your plants without creating shade. Once you have figured out the best placement of your plants, you should be ready to enjoy the blooms of your money plants.
